🎓 ABOUT THE EVENT
The HBCU College Fair, hosted by The 1895 Project, is designed to expose, equip, and empower high school students by connecting them directly with Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs).
Students will have the opportunity to:
- Meet representatives from 15+ HBCUs
- Learn about admissions, scholarships, and campus life
- Access on-site resources and support
- Connect with Divine Nine organizations and community partners
This event is open to ALL high school students, and we encourage every school to show up and represent.

- Location: Lincoln High School, 2229 J Street, Lincoln, NE
- Attendance: Multiple HBCUs, Greek-lettered fraternities and sororities (Divine Nine), Community Partners, Educational Resources, etc.

Because of this event, students have taken real steps toward college, submitting applications, making connections, and seeing themselves on HBCU campuses.

3rd Annual HBCU College Fair Recap
Our 3rd Annual HBCU College Fair at Lincoln High School was a strong success, connecting over 125 students with leading Historically Black Colleges and Universities.
We proudly hosted representatives from:
- Alabama State University
- Hampton University
- University of Maryland Eastern Shore
- Tennessee State University
- University of Arkansas Pine Bluff
- Prairie View A&M University
- Tuskegee University
- Coppin State University
- Howard University
- University of the District of Columbia
Students engaged directly with admissions teams, explored academic programs, and learned about scholarships and campus life.
The event featured representation from all Divine Nine organizations and numerous community partners, creating a supportive and resource-rich environment for students and families. Attendees also enjoyed food provided by Raising Cane’s and Runza.

Spring 2025 College Fair
🎉 2nd Annual HBCU College Fair Recap
Our 2nd Annual HBCU College Fair at Lincoln High School was a tremendous success, with over 80 students in attendance despite registration not being required.
The event brought together a strong network of community partners, including the Great Plains Black History Museum, Union Bank & Trust, Raising Cane’s, Rebecca Marie Photography, EducationQuest, and local chapters of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Incorporated, and Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated.
Students enjoyed a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere, along with food generously provided by Raising Cane’s and Casey’s Pizza. We were also proud to have support from Lincoln Public Schools staff and representatives from esteemed HBCUs such as Alabama State University, Howard University, and Morgan State University.

2024 HBCU College Fair
🎉 Inaugural HBCU College Fair (2024)
Our inaugural HBCU College Fair in 2024 laid the foundation for what has become a growing and impactful experience for students across the community. We visited four Lincoln Public Schools high schools, engaging over 125 students.
During this first year, students were introduced to the rich history, culture, and opportunities offered by eight distinguished Historically Black Colleges and Universities:
- Alabama State University
- Howard University
- Grambling State University
- Florida A&M University
- Wilberforce University
- Tennessee State University
- Lincoln University
- Morehouse College
Through direct engagement and meaningful conversations, students gained valuable insight into HBCU pathways, helping them feel more informed, confident, and empowered in their college journey.
