Welcome to the official page for the 2026 Spring Cotillion - a modern celebration of legacy, empowerment, and excellence.
About the Cotillion
Inspired by the first documented African American Debutante Ball in New Orleans in 1895, the 1895 Project Cotillion is more than a one-night event. It’s a transformational journey.
Through a 4-month enrichment program, participants will receive:
- Career readiness training
- Etiquette and soft skills development
- Financial literacy education
- Mentorship and leadership coaching
Who Can Apply?
We invite high school juniors and seniors (male and female) who:
- Reside in Nebraska and attend school in Lincoln
- Are single and never married
- Plan to attend a college, university, or trade school
- Demonstrate leadership, ambition, and community involvement
Application Requirements
Applicants must submit:
- A 300-word personal statement
- Two letters of recommendation
- A current resume (optional but encouraged)
- Most recent high school transcript
- Signed Parental Consent, Medical & Participation Agreement
- Signed Media Release Form
- $25 Application – Due once accepted into the program
**Only complete applications will be reviewed.
